Implementation & certification readiness
Kellwick takes organisations from gap assessment to an operating management system for ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 42001, then prepares them for the certification body's audit. We also handle corrective action after audits and transitions to new editions.
We build with your owners, so the system runs on your people once the project ends. The certificate itself is issued by an accredited certification body; we prepare you for that decision and cannot make it.
By standard
Who it is for
How it works
Not every client needs every phase. Timings depend on scope, the number of sites and what already exists - we give a plan after the gap assessment.
Agree the scope and assess the current state. Usually one to three weeks for a single site and standard.
Method, processes and documented information designed with your owners. Often four to eight weeks.
The system runs and produces records. Certification bodies expect to see it working, typically for at least a few months.
Performed before Stage 1. The internal audit is done by an auditor independent of the design work.
Performed by your certification body. We support preparation and help close any findings.
Optional: managed system support or recurring internal audits - never a condition of the project.
Step 1 of 5
A scoped assessment of where your system stands against every applicable requirement of the standard. It is the basis for a realistic plan and a fixed project price.
Start smaller: the fixed-scope Mini Gap Review →Step 2 of 5
We build the management system with your people: the method, the processes and the documented information, sized to the organisation rather than to a template pack.
Step 3 of 5
A pre-certification review of the system, the records and the people the auditor will talk to - so Stage 1 tests a system that already operates.
Step 4 of 5
After a gap assessment, an internal audit or a certification audit finding: root cause analysis, a corrective action plan built to address the root cause, and support to implement it. Whether a plan is accepted is the certification body's decision.
Nonconformity follow-up audits →Step 5 of 5
When a standard or scheme is revised, certified organisations have a fixed window to move. We plan the transition around your certification cycle so it is assessed at a normal audit rather than an extra one.
Published 16 September 2026, replacing ISO 9001:2015. Accredited certificates must move by 30 September 2029; from 31 March 2028 new certifications are issued only to the 2026 edition.
ISO 9001 transition →Last verified 16 October 2026 against Global ACI - ISO 9001:2026 transition and ISO - ISO 9001.

Scope and pricing
Implementation is quoted as a fixed project after a gap assessment, so the price is tied to a known scope.
Kellwick's fees cover consulting only. Certification body audit fees, travel, taxes and any software you choose are separate.
Delivery
Boundaries
When Kellwick implements your system and also performs its internal audit, the audit is assigned to a competent auditor who took no part in the implementation. Certification audits are carried out only by your accredited certification body.
Questions
It depends on scope and starting point. The certification body will want evidence that the system has operated, including an internal audit and a management review, before Stage 1. For a single site starting from little, several months is realistic. We give a plan after the gap assessment rather than a number in advance.
No. Certification decisions are made by accredited certification bodies. What we can do is make sure the system conforms and operates, and that you know your remaining risks before the audit.
Yes. When we have implemented the system, the internal audit is assigned to an auditor who took no part in that work, so its objectivity holds up when the certification body reviews it.
Not to be certified. A tool can help with evidence collection; it does not decide scope, risk or ownership. We work with the tools you already use.
We can explain what to ask - accreditation for your scope, auditor availability, combined audits - and help you compare quotes. You choose and contract the certification body directly.
We recommend the first step - a Mini Gap Review, a full gap assessment or straight to implementation - and send a written scope and price.
Kellwick is an independent consulting and internal audit practice. We are not a certification body and do not issue ISO certificates. Certification decisions are made only by accredited certification bodies.
