ISO 9001 · Quality management
An independent internal audit of your quality management system. We follow your processes from customer requirement to delivery and feedback, and test whether they produce the results you planned - in an office, on a shop floor or across several sites.
ISO 9001:2026 was published in September 2026. If you are certified to the 2015 edition, the audit can include a transition check so you know what has to change before your certification body moves you across. Audits are led by auditors who hold ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
ISO 9001:2026
Published 16 September 2026. Three-year transition to 30 September 2029. New certifications only to the 2026 edition from 31 March 2028.
Last verified 16 October 2026 against Global ACI - ISO 9001:2026 transition and ISO - ISO 9001.
Who it is for
An audit that walks the standard clause by clause misses how work actually flows between departments - which is where quality problems start.
Quality objectives exist on a poster, but the data behind them is not reviewed and nothing changes when they are missed.
Complaints and nonconformities are logged and closed, with no root cause and no check that the fix worked.
External providers are approved once and never evaluated again, though their performance decides your own.
How it works
Scope is agreed per audit. A typical full-scope audit samples:
Scope, interested parties, quality policy and objectives, and how risks and opportunities are actually addressed in planning - not only listed.
We follow real orders or service requests from requirement review through design where applicable, production or delivery, release and customer feedback.
Competence and training records, infrastructure, monitoring and measuring resources and calibration, documented information and its control.
How suppliers and outsourced processes are selected, evaluated, monitored and re-evaluated, and how their output is verified.
Customer satisfaction, analysis of data, previous internal audits, management review outputs, nonconformity and corrective action, and their effectiveness.
Where your system stands against ISO 9001:2026, recorded separately from findings against the edition you are certified to, so the two are never confused.

Boundaries
ISO 9001:2026 replaces ISO 9001:2015 including its 2024 climate amendment. Certificates to the 2015 edition stay valid during the transition period, which ends on 30 September 2029. From 31 March 2028 new certifications are issued only to the 2026 edition. When and how your own certificate transitions is agreed with your certification body.

Questions
ISO 9001 requires internal audits at planned intervals under a programme that considers the importance of the processes, changes and previous audit results. A programme can spread coverage across the three-year certification cycle. Many certified organisations audit annually because their certification body visits annually; we will recommend what fits your risk.
Instead of checking clause 7, then clause 8, the auditor follows a process - for example from receiving an order to invoicing - and tests every requirement that applies along the way. It shows how departments hand work to each other, which is where most quality problems sit.
Yes, for the transition period, which ends on 30 September 2029. Your certification body will plan your transition audit with you. A transition check during your internal audit tells you what to change before that visit.
Yes. Shared processes such as document control, competence, management review and corrective action are audited once, and each standard's specific requirements are sampled separately.
Yes - that is a common reason to bring us in. Your quality manager can audit other departments, and we audit quality management itself, so no one audits their own work.
We will confirm the scope in a short conversation and send a written proposal with audit days, onsite visits and price.
